Queen Epomba

Queen Epomba — “Queen is not only a proud Texan through and through, but a global citizen who has spent the past seven years working in the international health and education sector. She began her journey serving her Houston community through various service projects as a Community Health Worker where she worked to implement PreventT2, a CDC-developed curriculum preventing Type 2 diabetes.

With a B.S. and B.A. in Public Health and Chinese Studies from the University of Houston and a MSc in Global Heath from National Taiwan University, Queen is more than aware of the intersection that health and culture share. Queen’s ambitions all culminate in working towards expanding the equity of health, education, and cultural competency both at home and abroad. Her thirst for knowledge, passionate personality, and drive to make change has led her to work for international programs like Special Olympics Korea, National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y), and in higher education abroad in China, Thailand, and Taiwan.

Queen is an avid traveler who speaks four languages and now is bringing her skills to Sister Cities International as the Youth Ambassador Program Assistant Manager. As a former Youth Ambassador herself, Queen is equipped and ready to help this year’s cohort navigate a global event of such a large scale.”
