But what he cherishes even more is the next generation—the young people who are our future.

Sister Cities International, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower—affectionately remembered as “Ike.” Nearly 70 years later, we proudly carry forward his vision of citizen diplomacy through meaningful, people-to-people connections.

Each year, our Youth Leadership Summit brings together 50 exceptional young leaders (ages 14–18) for a week of hands-on training in leadership and global engagement. These students breathe life into Ike’s belief that lasting peace begins with friendships between individuals. As his famous campaign slogan said, “I Like Ike”—and we believe he would’ve liked the next generation of changemakers, too.

The 2025 Youth Leadership Summit will take place June 15–21 at American University in Washington, D.C. However, as nonprofit funding becomes increasingly uncertain, your support is critical to ensuring this life-changing experience continues.

Our goal is to welcome students from all corners of the country and show them their communities believe in their potential. Help us secure donations from all 50 states— every gift makes an impact!

Your contribution would provide a full day of meals—breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks—for two students at the SCI Youth Leadership Summit.

Your contribution would sponsor a student’s attendance at the Mentorship Dinner during the SCI Youth Leadership Summit, offering students a chance to learn, engage, and network.
