Debbie Li has nearly 30 years of experience in administering international educational exchange programs. She has been the Executive Director of American Cultural Exchange Service (ACES) since its founding in 1995. Before that time, she spent two years working for a large international exchange organization in New York. As an international student, she spent several years overseas, including Mexico (high school), China (college) and Turkey (graduate school).
She holds a Master’s Degree in Asian Studies from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor’s Degree also in Asian Studies from Colby College in Maine. With a lifelong passion for international exchange experiences, she has devoted her profession to the mission of ACES. She has also served in other capacities, including as a member of the School Outreach Committee of the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) for several years. It is her commitment to provide the best possible experience for students, host families and communities involved in international exchange programs.
