Government of Ghana fully support city pairing as the Country’s Decentralization policy does not frown on it. This is exemplified by the city pairing between the City of Accra and other Cities in Ghana and some Cities Abroad.

Local Business Associations, Individuals, Non-Governmental and Community Based Organisations that partner the Birim Central Municipal Assembly in the discharge of it’s mandate have advocated for and encouraged the Assembly to pair with a Sister City to further promote collaboration and economic development. It is by purview of the above that a committee of interest was set up and tasked to look for potential Sister Cities abroad to pair with.
