Sister Cities International extends its warmest congratulations to our Chair, Sheri Capehart, on receiving two distinguished honors recognizing her commitment to community, international friendship, and service: the German-American Friendship Award and the Yellow Rose of Texas Award.
The German-American Friendship Award, presented by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, recognizes individuals whose work has made meaningful contributions to strengthening friendship and understanding between Germany and the United States. It is a fitting recognition of Sheri’s longstanding dedication to building bridges between communities and fostering international relationships through citizen diplomacy.
Sheri was also honored with the Yellow Rose of Texas Award, one of Texas’s notable recognitions for women who demonstrate exceptional community service, volunteerism, and leadership. Established in 1957 by Texas Governor Allan Shivers, the honor recognizes women whose contributions help strengthen their communities and shape the future of Texas.
These two honors reflect the breadth of Sheri’s service and her commitment to bringing people together, both locally and across borders. We are proud to have her leadership at Sister Cities International and grateful for the energy, vision, and dedication she brings to the citizen diplomacy movement.
Congratulations, Sheri, on these well-deserved recognitions!
