2021 Jinan-Sacramento Sister Cities Corporation (JSSC) Youth Ambassador Video Competition Winners Announced

The video contest is the first of a series of virtual Youth Ambassador (YA) programs we have for 2021. The purpose of these YA events and activities is to continue to promote cultural and educational exchanges between Sacramento and Jinan students despite the pandemic. The virtual programs will achieve this goal via online tools without face-to-face interaction. The programs will provide opportunities and incentives for both Sacramento and Jinan students to engage in continued cultural exchanges while honoring the social distancing and travel restrictions.

We have selected our First ($1000 scholarship), Second ($500), and Third place winners ($500) and 5 Honorable Mention winners ($100 each).  See list below for details.

First Place:
Jianna/Janelle Choi

Second Place:
Kayli/Kylie Huang

Third Place:
Chinese Cole-Henry

Honorable Mention:
Bailey Quan
Zoya Luo
Samuel Tong
Quinn Gordon
Molly Nealon

All of the students did a wonderful job in submitting their videos and we also award the rest of the students with a Youth Ambassador Appreciation Award of $25.

Our virtual Youth Ambassadors introduce Sacramento to Jinan students by creating videos about Sacramento, their schools and their life. The winning videos will be featured in our exchange programs with Jinan. The videos will be shared with Jinan schools and Jinan citizens so they can learn about Sacramento, the people and lifestyle here.  We’d like to share the first place video (link) here, and will feature other videos in future newsletters.

Congratulations to all winners!  Thank you for your participation.  We hope that you will continue to be involved in the Sacramento-Jinan sister city program.
