Historic Downtown full of independent small businesses ranging from Restaurants to Antiques to a Day Spa and more. The Holly Hotel and Battle Alley which is a nationally known prohibition site attracts thousands of visitors each year. Holly is a community founded on the railroad. Our historic depot is in the process of moving and restoration. Our community has several parks and beaches that offer opportunities for hiking, kayaking, swimming and camping. We have several festivals throughout the year including the longest running Charles Dickens Festival in the United States that runs between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We are an enthusiastic community looking to make new partnerships and friends. We are a proud veterans community including a VFW and American Legion. Our Moose Lodge is one of the most active in the country. We also have a Public Library, Little League Baseball and Soccer program.
Beginning as a lumbering depot founded by Ira C. Alger, Holly has been home to many industries, including being one of the earliest railroad junctions in the State of Michigan, home to numerous manufacturing sectors (including the automobile industry), and agricultural lands. Holly also hosts the annual Renaissance Festival, and theDickens destival based on Chalres Dickens “A Christmas Story”.
