Sister Cities International Statement on Coronavirus

Sister Cities International (SCI) is closely monitoring the status of the current coronavirus outbreak. The World Health Organization is a great resource for accurate information and updates on the coronavirus, and we encourage SCI members with sister city partnerships that may be affected to monitor the WHO website for the latest information.

Our thoughts are with our friends and families around the globe who have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak. We urge our network to contact their local communities for more information on relief efforts as the need for medical equipment and supplies, coordination funds, and training continues to increase in affected areas.

At the core of SCI’s mission is the important role that people-to-people and community-to-community diplomacy can play at the local level as well as abroad.  Taking the time to be involved in community efforts, offering support to our global neighbors and cooperating when others are in need are at the center of SCI’s values.
