Following a membership-wide election, 11 delegates were chosen to the 24-member Sister Cities International Board of Directors. Just two years old, the sister city relationship between Tallahassee, Florida and Rugao, China has already established several business, education, and media connections. The genesis of the sister city partnership lies in green energy. Impressed by the technological innovations of Tallahassee-based Bing Energy, the city of Rugao agreed to invest $9 million in the company. Doing an internship abroad is on the wish-list of many college students today. In Spring 2012, Medaille College, Buffalo, NY student Danielle Rollins too was searching for a senior-year internship related to her Business, Management, and Operations major. That is when her college professors told her about the Buffalo-Yeongcheon, South Korean Sister City Committee's professional apprenticeship program. More than 15,000 people attended a “Diwali” celebration in the city of San Antonio, Texas last month making it the largest city sanctioned Diwali event in the United States.
