Martha Vera

Honorary Consul of Spain, Martha Vera, is a native of El Paso, TX. She was appointed Honorary Consul of Spain in El Paso for 20 counties in Texas on October 1, 2015. She is a business owner at The Vera Group, LLC.

She holds a BS and MS in Cell Biology and Virology and recently completed a Master’s in International Law, Foreign Policy, and Foreign Trade from the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia in Madrid, Spain. She also completed the United Nations’ UNITAR Executive Diploma in International Diplomatic Law for Honorary Consuls.

She is President of the World Affairs Council of El Paso and Board Member of Heroes de Cavite out of Cartagena, Spain. She has been active with Sister Cities International in El Paso, TX for four years.

She works to promote the history of Spain in the New World, with special focus along the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro. She has made numerous presentations on this topic in Salamanca, Valencia, Toledo, Madrid, Cartagena, and this year she will be speaking in Madrid, Medina del Campo, Pamplona, Calatayud, Murcia, Almeria, and Granatula de Calat. She is currently translating the 5th Volume of the Mystical City of God on the life of Sor Maria de Jesús de Ágreda, a Spanish nun who bilocated to the North American Southwest evangelizing the natives of the Quivira.
